About this design
The community toilet facility is designed to cater to the needs of the nearby market, providing a place of respite for vendors with tea stalls and internal courtyards as informal pause points. Located near Saathiya Nagar, the design prioritizes creating a welcoming space for women, featuring an open-to-sky courtyard for community activities and gatherings. The color palette, inspired by vernacular architecture, uses warm earthy tones of beige and copper to blend with the local environment. Key design elements include jalis, skylights, and open spaces for improved cleanliness and ventilation. Separate access points for women and men ensure privacy and safety, while PWD toilets and clear signage promote accessibility. The facility also includes rainwater harvesting, supporting sustainability.
